Every year on the first two weekends of October, artists open their studios for you to visit. This way you can see where the Artists work, talk to them – and often – see them in action!
Coromandel is famous for its creative people. For two weekends more than 30 artists open their studios to you, and the Arts Tour helps you make contact with some of them. We have been part of the Open Studios Arts Tour since its beginning in 2016.
Call first at the Hauraki House Gallery at the top of the Coromandel town centre. See a work from each artist, chat to working artists in pop-up studios, pick up a Guide and map update and plan your itinerary. While you’re there try your skills at one of the ongoing interactive art projects.
Many Coromandel artists welcome visitors year around. Pick up a copy of the Artist Guide at a Coromandel Peninsula i-Site for a brief description of their work and their contact details. Check out the Arts Tour website or Facebook page, or email them for more information.
